Brussels, 22/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - Environment Commissioner Margot Wallström warned the ten future EU Member States that the Commission will be strictly monitoring the way in which the new Member States implement acquis communautaire with regards environmental policy after 1 May 2004. The Commission has adequate legal instruments to intervene and may, where necessary, bring Member States that fail to comply before the Court of Justice, even if the preferred course remains that of...
