22/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - Having devoted most of its work to the tax on savings, the EcoFin Council decided to postpone to 18 February its debates on the tax on energy. A priori, an agreement is in view, but much will depend on negotiations between France and Germany on tax breaks for diesel granted to hauliers, Frits Bolkestein noted.
