Tribute by European institutions to Lord Jenkins, British President of the Commission who re-launched monetary union

Brussels, 06/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - The presidents of the European Commission and European Parliament were among many personalities to pay tribute to Lord Jenkins, who died aged 82 on Sunday. Roy Jenkins was, in particular, Home Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer before becoming President of the European Commission, from 1977 to 1981.
