European charter of Fundamental Rights: European Parliament calls for it to be written into the Treaty

On 23 October, the European Parliament approved the report by British Liberal Democrat Andrew Duff on the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (Andrew Duff, a Member of the European Convention, was rapporteur on the Charter along with Austrian Green Johannes Voggenhuber). The Members of the EP called for the Charter to be written into the future Constitutional Treaty, as did the Convention working group chaired by Antonio Vitorino (see Europe of 25 October, page 7)....
