Echo grants humanitarian aid worth EUR 3.7 million to most needy in three Asian countries

Brussels, 06/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to send humanitarian aid worth EUR 3.7 million to Nepal, North Korea, and Thailand. The assistance is channelled through its Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO) and is distributed as follows:

Nepal - €2 million for the 102,000 Bhutanese refugees who are living in camps in south-east Nepal and who rely almost entirely on rations provided by the UN's World Food Programme. The aid will mainly be spent on food supplies from...
