06/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - In a letter addressed to Commissioner Anna Diamantopoulou, the Secretary General of the Trade Unions Confederation (ETUC) Emilio Gabaglio stated that he was worried about the initiatives taken by the Portuguese government to amend the labour code. According to the Portuguese affiliated members of the ETUC (CGTP-IN and the UGT) this risks, "seriously undermining the rights of workers and unions".
