Brussels, 06/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has chosen Briton, Brian Gray as Assistant Director General for Directorate General Budget. Mr Gray will be responsible for relations with the Parliament's Budgetary Control Committee and the Court of Auditors, as well as discharge procedures. He will participate in the implementation of financial management reform in the Commission's accounting system. Mr Gray, who is 56, has until now been working as Director of resources at the DG responsible for regional policy and from 1992 - 1999 was Head of the Unit for settlement of accounts for European Orientation Funds and European Agriculture Guidance and Guarantee Fund at DG Agriculture.
