Commission responsive to Jacque Chirac's letter on crisis in sector - Council discussion on 5 December

Brussels, 06/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission appears to have welcomed the letter from the French President Jacques Chirac in which he asked Romano Prodi, the President of the European Commission and Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the Acting President of the European Council, "to act on an EU-wide level" to curb the crisis in the European telecommunications sector (see EUROPE 1 November p 9).
