Brussels, 06/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - Before going to Chicago to take part in the annual Transatlantic Business Dialogue (TABD: see below) conference, European Commissioner Pascal Lamy is to meet his American counterpart, Robert Zoellick, on Wednesday in New York. After a turbulent year on the trade front, the list of latent or open disputes the two officials are to discuss is a long one: FSC, steel, farm subsidies, GMO, etc. In addition to this, there is the report on negotiations on the Doha Development Agenda and the prolonged wait for European proposals - as well as Japanese - on agriculture (on this subject, see the remarks by Commissioner Franz Fischler in yesterday's EUROPE, p.17). In New York, Mr Lamy also met UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.
