Working group on "complementary competencies" suggests having an area in which EU intervenes, but does not legislate, in support of national policies - in favour of maintaining flexibility provided under Article 308 and introducing open method of coordination

Brussels, 06/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Working Group on "complementary competencies" chaired by the Danish Government's representative, Henning Christophersen (former Minister and former European Commissioner), finalised its report that considers this expression inadequate, proposing to speak in future of "support measures".
