31/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Youth Forum welcomes recognition, in Article 34 of the preliminary draft Constitutional treaty presented to the Members of the Convention on Monday, of NGOs as stakeholders in democratisation in Europe, as well as the confirmation of the Union's intention of conducting actions in favour of the young. "This proposal is a major breakthrough, a success for the defence of youth matters in Europe. It represents the culmination of our unrelenting efforts to have specific youth and NGO-related articles included in the European Constitution", declared the Forum's president, Henrik Soderman.
