Brussels, 31/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - National fishing organisations in the EU, Europêche and the Fisheries section of the EU General Committee for Agricultural Co-operation in the EU, Cogeca have vehemently opposed the reaction of Franz Fischler to the most recent and alarming results of scientific data on cod and other species such as haddock and hake (see EUROPE 28-29 October p 13), which they judge as out of proportion.
