Brussels, 24/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - Over dinner between Heads of State and Government on Thursday, Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis was to turn to the development in the European Security and Defence Policy. "This report will be short", a diplomatic source declared before dinner, as we were going to press. "The situation has not evolved much lately, as we are waiting for the outcome of the Turkish elections" added the source, explaining that, after those elections, to be held on 3 November, it would be possible to resume talks on "Berlin +", i.e., a future agreement on relations between the EU and NATO which remains in deadlock by the persistent dispute between Greece and Turkey over the modaliti4s for this relationship (participation of non-EU European members of NATO in ESDP operations using Alliance assets).
