24/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 23 September in Brussels, Commissioner Anna Diamantopoulou met Frank Bsirske, President of the biggest German union in the services sector, Verdi. Discussion focused on the consequences of the German election results on the trade union and business communities, the situation of temping agency workers (the Commission proposal will be the subject of a vast debate during the Empoyment Council on 8 October in Luxembourg, explained the Commissioner's spokesman Andrew Fielding), as well as the question of State Aid for jobs and the recent European Court of Justice decision on the Finnish bus sector (see EUROPE 19 September p 16).
