Commission asks UK for more information on measures of fighting against alcohol and tobacco smuggling

Brussels, 18/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to ask the United Kingdom for additional information about its application of EU law relating to excise duties on tobacco and alcohol. The United Kingdom has already responded to some of the objection the Commission addressed to it in October 2001.
