Brussels, 21/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - the Council has adopted by written procedure, two regulations on a definitive anti-dumping duty on iron and steel pipe imports from outside the EU.
The first amends a 2000 regulation imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty on certain unsoldered tubes and pipes in non-alloyed iron and steel exported from Croatia and the Ukraine. Imports from these countries will be subject to a tax of 38.5%.
The second sets up a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain pipe accessories (other than moulded accessories, flanges and thread accessories), in iron and steel (excluding stainless steel from the Czech Republic, Malaysia, Russia, Korea and Slovakia. Rates are 22.4% for the Czech Republic, 75% for Malaysia, 43.3% for Russia, 44% for Korea and 15% for Slovakia. However, in the Czech Republic and Malaysia, some companies will benefit from lower rates. Exemptions might apply for certain products manufactured and directly exported by Czech and Slovak companies under certain conditions (a trade invoice with the full description of the merchandise and sales conditions etc.).
