Definitive duties on colour television imports from China, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand

Brussels, 21/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Council has adopted by written procedure, a regulation that establishes definitive duties on imports into the EU of colour televisions from China, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand. This also brings to a close the procedure on colour television imports from Singapore, whose market share is negligible and which will therefore not be subject to the definitive anti-dumping duties. This duty will only apply to TV sets whose screens exceed 15.5 centimetres. The duty will vary between 25.1% for Malaysia, 29.8% for Thailand, 44.6% for China and 15% for Korea. However, in these four countries, some companies will benefit from a better rate or even be exempted (only in China) on the condition that they provide a trade invoice with the full description of the merchandise and sales conditions.
