Commission takes measures against several Member States for failure to comply with "Impact" Directive

Brussels, 19/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Commission decided to take measures against four Member States for failure to comply with the provisions of the directive on assessing the impact that certain public and private works have on the environment. Action will be initiated at the Court of Justice against the United Kingdom and France because of the inadequacies of their respective national legislations on environmental impact assessment.
