ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) insurance

In Belgium, the CMB shipping group have announced the sale of NAVIGA (EUR 104 million in premiums for 2001 with 700 brokers) its insurance department to the SMAP group - SOCIETE MUTUELLE DES ADMINISTRATIONS PUBLIQUES. The sales price is around EUR 108.9 million. In 2001, NAVIGA made losses of EUR 18 million compared to its profit of EUR 3.7 million in 2000.
