Reasoned opinion against Ireland and Germany on equipment in goods transport

Brussels, 27/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the Commission sent a reasoned opinion to Germany and Ireland (last stage before formal referral to the Court of Justice) for not having complied with the Community legislation on pressurised equipment in goods transport. The legislation, which introduces the harmonisation of requirements for pressurised equipment in goods transport, aims to improve road safety and to facilitate the free movement of such equipment.
