According to European Commission EUR 124 million linked to Taliban and Al-Qaida frozen for year by E15 - visit of US Secretary of State to Treasury

Brussels, 09/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - Member States have frozen EUR 124 million belonging to the Taliban and Al-Qaida since the adoption of a regulation on 6 March 2001, according to estimates made by the European Commission. The Commission confirmed that this was only an estimate. The figure includes certain Afghan bank accounts that have since been removed from the black list (see p. 16).
