Regulation establishing European Food Safety Authority is formally adopted - Commission launches recruitment procedure for executive staff

Brussels, 21/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the Council adopted without debate the Parliament and Council regulation establishing the European Food Safety Authority, and establishing the general provisions of food legislation to guarantee food safety within the European Union. The seat of the Authority, provisionally set up in Brussels as decided at the European Council of Laeken, has still to be attributed, but this will not prevent the new body that is independent of the European...
