15/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Committee of the Regions and the Federation of Romanian Local Authorities held a conference in Bucharest last week on local authorities and enlargement, where they adopted a joint statement committing themselves to encourage the Romanian government to call for the creation of a joint committee made up of representatives of the Committee of the Regions and Romanian local authorities; enhance information for Romanian local authorities on the impact of accession; and examine with the European Commission and the Romanian government the potential to finance partnership projects on Community acquis at local and regional level.
