Clearance for Time's takeover of British publisher IPC

Brussels, 15/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised Time, the subsidiary of the American company AOL Time Warner, to acquire exclusive control of IPC, the main magazine publisher in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The preliminary inquiry showed that the project would neither create nor strengthen a dominant position on the magazine market, either for magazine readership or for the sale of advertising space, either in the United Kingdom or in Ireland.
