Brussels, 26/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Commission adopted decisions of principle approving the Italian "Objective 2" programmes for five regions (Emilie Romagne, Frioul - Venetria Julienne, Lombardie, Marches, Valley of Aoste). The Commission is planning an envelope amounting to 610 million euro from the Structural Funs that will allow for some 1.990 billion euro in investments from the private and public sector to be mobilised.
The previous day, the Commission also adopted two "Interreg" cooperation programmes, one of 42.7 million euro between Germany (Saxony) and Poland, and the other 170.7 million euro between Germany (Saxony) and the Czech Republic. EUROPE will return to this.
