Mr Schröder opens 5th Party Congress of European Socialist party in Berlin

Berlin, 07/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The German Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, opened, on Monday in Berlin, the 5th Congress of the Socialist Party and the European Social Democrats by insisting over the need for a better positioning of the Social Democrats in the European debate. The ESP President, Rudolph Scharping, made a powerful call for greater European integration around common human and social values, and wished his successor Robin Cook, who has to be elected, on Tuesday, to the head...
