Increase in retail trade in euro zone and European Union in February

Luxembourg, 07/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - According to the estimates Eurostat published on Friday, the volume of retail sales increased by 1.2% in the euro zone and 1.9% in the European Union (EU15) in February 2001 in relation to February 2000. Compared to January 2001, sales were up by 0.1% in the euro zone and remained unchanged in the EU15.

Compared to February 2000, the strongest increases per sector were recorded in the EU15. The households goods sector increased by 0.2% in February...
