Commission closes procedures against Belgian and Dutch banks concerning exchange commission for Euro zone currencies

Brussels, 07/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Commission abandoned the infringement proceedings lead against several Belgian and Dutch banks implicated in an investigation into conversion charges for the Euro zone currencies. An investigation was opened last year by the European executive over an agreement, which supposedly took place between nearly one hundred banks in seven countries (Portugal, Ireland, Finland, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Austria), suspected of maintaining...
