EU supports efforts by Mr Haekkerup, notably over issue of political prisoners and missing persons

Brussels, 09/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Swedish Presidency of the EU Council releases on 6 April, on behalf of the EU., the following declaration:

"The EU welcomes the visit of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Kosovo, Hans Haekkerup to Belgrade, on 6 April 2001. His meeting with the FRY President Vojislav Kostunica marks an important step forward in the development of a constructive relationship between the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) and the FRY...
