The food co-operatives of Denmark, Norway and Sweden have announced that they will join forces under the name COOP NORDEN. The new group will account for 30% of the retail food sector in the 3 Scandinavian countries, with 2,500 shops, 26,000 employees and sales of 76 billion Swedish crowns. KF (Sweden) will own 42% of the shares, FDB (Denmark) 38%, and COOP NORGE (Norway), the remaining 20%.
