09/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - The stabilization and association agreement between the EU and Croatia "is almost completely negotiated", declared Chris Patten at the close of a meeting last Thursday with Zagreb authorities. According to the Croatian prime minister, Ivica Racan, the agreement could be finalized in May and signed in September. Croatian officials recalled that their target is to join the EU by 2006.
