Campaign for equal wages, situation of women in candidate countries

Brussels, 05/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Commissioner for Social Affairs, Anna Diamantopoulou, indicated to the EP's Women's Rights Committee that the European Commission intends to launch a European campaign for equality in wages between men and women in 2002, and to develop, on the basis on Article 13 the Treaty, new indicators for a better assessment of the situation of women.
