Brussels, 10/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - The budgetary control committee invites the plenary to give a generally positive judgement, next week in Strasbourg, on the internal reforms undertaken by the European Commission. This was the recommendation made in the Lousewies van der Laan report (Dutch Liberal) on the Commission's follow-up to reforms requested by the European Parliament just one year ago, when it granted discharge to the Commission for its 1997 budgetary management.
