Six Member States oppose reference in Article 6 of Treaty, with the silent complicity of the others

Brussels, 21/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - In a gesture one observer called "institutional courtesy", the French Presidency took advantage of the IGC ministerial conclave to invite Ministers to express their view on the advisability of introducing, as requested by the European Parliament, a reference to the Charter of Fundamental Rights in Article 6 of the Treaty.
