Applicant countries participate in European Environment Agency (EEA), but still have much progress to make to align themselves on acquis communautaire

Brussels, 09/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission and twelve of the thirteen countries applicants for accession - Poland should soon be following - ended negotiations on Monday with a view to participation in the European Environment Agency (EEA). Following ratification of the Accession Agreements, the twelve countries should formally join the EEA on 1 January 2001.
