The British telecommunications operator VODAFONE is to take a 40% stake in Belgium's GLOBALSIGN, specialised in the supply of security services for commercial transactions over the Internet, through its German subsidiary MANNESMANN. The operation will take the form of a capital increase of 16 million euro for GLOBALSIGN. The remainder of the capital is held as follows: UBIZEN will hold a 16.7% stake, ING BARINGS 9%, BRUFICOM 8%, GIMV 8%, TECHNICOM 8%, KBC BANK 4% and GS MANAGEMENT 6.3%.
