Strasbourg, 08/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament, which had called for a statement by the European Commission in plenary on the recent political crisis in Fiji (see below), adopted a resolution on Friday tabled by the EPP, Socialist, Liberal, Green and United Left groups in which it urges the EU Council to maintain the firm stance it adopted on 25 July, and to set a deadline for the reestablishment of the political rights of all elements of Fijian society (see EUROPE of 18...
