European trade unions call on Commission to propose establishment of European Observatory on Industrial Change and on Parliament to go back on its position

Brussels, 08/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - "Incomprehensible and unacceptable": this is how the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) described the resolution adopted this week by the European Parliament which rejected, by a very slim majority, the creation of a European Observatory on Industrial Change (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.9).
