Brussels, 02/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Statistical Office Eurostat announced, for the month of June, a fall in the unemployment rate, seasonally adjusted, in the EU 15 and in the Euro area compared to the previous month. The EU as a whole effectively recorded a rate of 8.4% in June against 8.5% in May, corresponding to 14.4 million unemployed, while the States of the Euro Area registered an average of 9.1% against 9.2% in May, or 11.8 million unemployed.
