01/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - A poll published on Monday shows that 78% of Croats would like their country to join the European Union, whereas 8% are against and 14% don't know. These results "confirm that the government has chosen its programme well", commented Croat Minister for European integration, Ivan Jakovcic, considering that the EU/Croatia Association Agreement to be negotiated in the autumn could be signed in the first half of next year.
