The Italian portfolio company COMPART offered EUR 1.2 billion to take control of FALCK, active in electricity and in which it already held 29% of the capital, and in its specialised subsidiary SONDEL. COMPART is considering acquiring the 71% that remain, at the price of EUR 9 per share, with the aim of merging FALCK with its EDISON subsidiary, an operation that will create the third largest energy group in Italy. Together, EDISON and FALCK post a turnover of ITL 3,500 billion and have produced, together, 27.5 gigawatt/hours (more than 10% of the national production) as well as 2 billion m³ of gas.
