The Commission had decided that state aid to a German CD producer was illegal and must be recovered

Brussels, 21/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has closed with a final negative decision the formal investigation procedure in respect of state aid measures amounting to DM 427 million awarded by the German government to CDA (Compact Disc Albrechts), a company situated in Thueringen (Germany).

Following information requests by the Commission on the basis of press reports, in 1994 the German authorities notified aid in favour of a plant for manufacturing CDs in Albrechts in...
