The French group ALSTOM has acquired 51% of the capital of FIAT FERROVIARIA (annual turnover around 740 billion), a FIAT subsidiary specialised in rail transport material. The amount of the acquisition was not given but ALSTOM specified that this operation gave a value of around EUR 300 million to FIAT FZERROVIARIA. The agreement provides for a purchase option on the remaining 49% within the next two years.
