Acquisition of Flender by Citicorp is cleared

Brussels, 21/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised Citicorp Venture Capital (subsidiary of the American Citigroup) to take over Friedr. Flender Aktiengesellschaft, which belongs to the German group Babcock Borsig. Flender provides material for energy transmission. CVC operates in the financial sector. The European competition services therefore noted that there is no overlap between their activities and felt that there is no risk from the competition point of view.
