VOLVO CAR CORPORATION, the Swedish subsidiary of the American group FORD, is to invest EUR 542 million in Belgium, with 422 million in Gent where it will thus create 1800 jobs. The investment will increase the production unit's capacity to 325,000 cars per year, as opposed to 160,000 at present.
