Commission authorises Deutsche Telekom's first sale of a regional cable TV network in Germany

Brussels, 20/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised the operation whereby Callahan Invest Limited, owned by Blackstone (United States) and Canada's Capital Communications CDPQ Inc, acquires the cable TV network Kable Nordrhein-Westfalen (KNW), owned until now by Deutsche Telekom (DT). The former German monopoly will nevertheless keep a minority 45% stake in KNW, which will provide a range of telecommunications and pay-TV services in Nordrhein-Westfalen, one of...
