EP lifts immunity of Mr. Kronberger, but not that of Mr. Brie

Strasbourg, 14/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - Maintaining the line followed in all the cases were it had to rule on the lifting of parliamentary immunity of one of its members, the European Parliament decided to:

- not lift the immunity of the German PDS MEP Andreas Brie. Before the court in Berlin, the Advocate General reproached Mr. Brie (who at the time was a MP of the Bundestag, but not yet a member of the EP) of having participated, on 14 September 1998, in an "authorised meeting,"...
