Parliament removes Friday sessions in Strasbourg - Strong criticisms - Calendar of 2001 sessions

Strasbourg, 14/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - Adopting the calendar of its sessions for 2001, the European Parliament removed by 277 votes, against 232 and 28 abstentions, all the Friday morning sessions in Strasbourg. The Parliamentary week in Strasbourg will thus be limited in 2001 to three and a half days, since the session will only start Monday afternoon.
