The Norwegian public operator TELENOR has paid NOK 14.7 billion for the 53.5% share owned by Denmark's GN STORE NORD in SONOFON (Denmark's number two mobile operator, with 35% of the market, net profits of DEK 2.9 billion and a workforce of 1,500). The US firm BELL SOUTH still owns 46.5% of SONOFON. The deal still has to be approved by Danish and European regulatory authorities.
