Union releases 2.4 million euro and sends 160 observers to contribute to smooth running of electoral process

Brussels, 31/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - It is a team of 160 people that the Union is to send to Zimbabwe to monitor the smooth running of the electoral process, led by Pierre Schori, Vice-President of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament and former Swedish Minister of Development. The assurances provided by the authorities in Zimbabwe that conditions of access and security of these monitors would be guaranteed convinced the Union to send this mission for which 2.4 million euro will...
